On Saturday the 1st of October 2016 the multi award winning Facilities division of Aktrion Group mobilised Chiltern Railways Facilities Contract. Innovation, Continuous Improvement and World Class Standards will all be introduced across all stations ,offices and depots. In the meantime we wish to welcome some new staff to the Aktrion family!
22nd September 2016 saw the 2016 Food & Drink Federation Annual Awards Dinner held in London! This is the primary awards dinner of the industry, chaired by Dame Fiona Kendrick, Chairman & CEO Nestle. More ▶
The FDF Awards Dinner held in London on 14th November was a great and enjoyable night celebrating the many great achievements and companies within the sector and the massive contribution the sector makes to the British economy and exports. The TV Presenter, Katie Derham, who was the hostess for the evening attended by some 300 people in the Vinopolis Hotel in London.
Aktrion’s Bakery Tin Cleaning business based in Dudley, West Midlands, are proud to announce the securing, via their partner FBS Prestige, to provide all the bakery tin cleaning and re-glazing for all the Warburton’s Bakeries. Under this contract, FBS Prestige will provide all new tins and coatings.
Since the acquisition of the tin cleaning business last year for Rentokil Plc, Aktrion have invested heavily in additional capacity and improved process control, so that the operation really can boast a high degree of efficiency and quality. Aktrion work closely with FBS Prestige so as to provide a total bakery tin management service to clients, including replacement tins.
Aktrion Food & Drink are proud to announce that they will be sponsoring the Education Initiative Award at the Federation’s Awards Dinner in London on 14th November. When Aktrion takes on running a part of a client’s operation, along with process re-engineering and restructuring, staff training and development is a key part of the improvements Aktrion bring. Therefore it is highly appropriate that Aktrion are sponsoring such an award.
Leading by example, in November, Aktrion will be enrolling a further 60 of it’s own staff on a one year Apprenticeship Programme in manufacturing operational improvement, with a planned further 60 the following year.
Following the acquisition of 51% of Alpha FM Ltd in 2010 as part of Aktrion’s expansion into the food & drink sector, Aktrion have now acquired the remaining 49% as planned in the original agreement. Keith Nathan remains as Managing Director with Alpha FM, now rebranded as Aktrion Food & Drink. Since the acquisition of the original 51% in mid-2010, Alpha FM has more than doubled its sales volume and continues to expand at this rate as the range of services and management resources are developed under Aktrion.
In November 2012, Aktrion Food & Drink signed a contract with a major fish ready meals producer to takeover and run all their hygiene cleaning operations. This involved the TUPE transfer of some 30 staff, who have since been supported by additional recruitments by Aktrion and the installation of an Aktrion management team. In addition to providing significant cost savings for the client, Aktrion have been able to steadily develop new standards and remove the worries of hygiene cleaning away from the production management.
Aktrion are continuing to improve processes, procedures and training to ensure the embedding of high standards and efficiency and are also investing in additional equipment and systems.
