The FDF Awards Dinner held in London on 14th November was a great and enjoyable night celebrating the many great achievements and companies within the sector and the massive contribution the sector makes to the British economy and exports. The TV Presenter, Katie Derham, who was the hostess for the evening attended by some 300 people in the Vinopolis Hotel in London.
Chris Baumann, Director of Aktrion Food & Drink, presented the two awards sponsored by Aktrion for Education within the sector. There were two awards in this category, one for large companies and one for small companies.
The large company was won by Mondelez International for their Taste of Work programme which was launched in 2007 and is a work-related learning, curriculum-led initiative. It operates in primary and secondary schools as well as further education institutions and is supported by the Cadbury Foundation.
The small company award was won by Agrico Ltd, the Scottish based seed potato company, teamed up with its local Primary School for a ‘Tattie Tastic’ project as part of Scottish Food and Drink Federation’s innovative schools programme, A Future in Food.
